S-WHS Alma Mater

At the all-class picnic in July, copies of the words to our Alma Mater song were handed out so everyone could join in at the close of the day. Class of 71 has always sung this song, but it seems that some classes didn't know about it at all. Ed Hoyt provided the words from his mother's collected papers; Mary Newberg Hoyt graduated with Class of 1920:

S-WHS ALMA MATER

Here beside the Skagit River,
stands our school so bold.
"Tis the royal Alma Mater
glo-rious to be-hold."

Chorus
Hail to thee O' Sedro-Woolley,
blue and white all hail.
Hail to thee our Alma Mater,
Sedro-Woolley hail!

We sing of Sedro-Woolley,
give a rousing cheer.
Raise in union our voices,
sounding far and near!

***
Well, not so much on substance, but great on spirit!

More as it develops...
