Monthly coffee hour - Tuesday December 27th

Two days after Christmas we'll have our monthly coffee hour, and rumors abound that folks from out of town will be attending!  So all of you who are coming to Skagit County and surrounds for the holidays, be sure to get us on your calendar!  And those locals who would like to see visiting class members, this is your big chance!

Same place - Starbucks at exit 232, from 5ish to 7ish.  See you there!

Sedro-Woolley Historical photos on the Internet!

There is a GREAT collection of vintage photos of Sedro-Woolley now on the Internet!

Even some from the 1960's, that we, being vintage ourselves, would recognize!

The page with the interactive map and photos is here:

http://www.washingtonruralheritage.org/sedro-woolley/

Click and explore the site - there are 304 photos right now and they are tagged for filtering by subject.

There's an explanation on this blog page:

Many thanks to City Librarian Debra Peterson and Museum Director Carolyn Freeman for making this donor's photos into a wonderful Internet resource.

I'm still looking for a photo of my house from the early days - 1898 or shortly after - but, alas, I haven't seen one here.

Monthly Coffee Hour Tuesday November 29th

Tuesday, November 29th is our next monthly scheduled gathering of Class of ’71 locals from 5ish to 7ish!

Come on out and visit; we have a hardy group who comes to these coffee hours and we're glad to see everyone!  We also welcome guests from other classes - will we recognize you?

Early warning:  The December gathering will be on Tuesday, December 27th at Starbucks/Cook Road exit.  We always meet on the “last” Tuesday of the month.

If you live out of the area and will be visiting Skagit County during the holidays, plan to come to one of these events and visit with the regulars!

And it's Pumpkin Spice Latte season!

October Monthly Coffee Hour - Tuesday Oct. 25th

Come to Starbucks at Exit 232 for our monthly Class of 1971 coffee hour next Tuesday, 10/25!  5ish to 7ish.  Come as you are or in costume - if you want to get some extra use out of that Halloween costume.

Anybody still have photos to share from our 40-year reunion?

Any advice for Class of 72 as they prepare for their 40-year celebration?  Think about it...

An "informal" coffee hour among friends

On Friday, July 8th, we had an informal coffee hour at Paula Wilcox Brunn's mother's house (easier to find than describe) just to get in some extra visiting before the reunion on Saturday.  We were so glad to see these folks:  Renee Russell Swanson, Leilani Waidelich Morrison, Nancy Lutterloh Burns, Debra Ruthford King, Paula Wilcox Brunn, Mary Bryant Martin, Judy Johnson.  Guests and photographers:  Pat Wilcox and Graham Carr.

Loggerodeo Parade Stars Class of 1971!!

Here we are at the Loggerodeo Parade on our "float"!  This is a flatbed trailer procured for us by Donna Flack Beland (thanks!) and decorated, hayed, and pulled by JB Bryson (thanks!).  This is a BIG TRADITION in Sedro-Woolley - classes having a reunion are expected to have a parade entry.  For major reunions this is de rigueur.  But any class can have a parade entry - that class of 1964 always seems to be in it!!

22 intrepid members of the Class of 71 turned out for the event:  JB Bryson, Sue Ann Butt Bryson, Susy Thompson Sanders, Shirley Hooper Knapp, Susan Parker Swetman, Donna Flack Beland, Joel Woiwod, Darlene Comstock Woiwod, Brad Warfield, Frank Handy, Sally Hendricks Tucker, Judy Johnson, Keith Sorestad, Mark Stendal, Bob Stiles, Dennis Talley, Jim Kallio, Debra Wagar Kallio, Paula Wilcox Brunn, Leilani Waidelich Morrison, Dale Huggins, and we picked up John Hunter en route!

Here are a few photos.  I'm expecting more...

Waiting for the parade to start!

Waving to all the people!

This last photo is our view from the parade - of beautiful Hammer Heritage Square in downtown Sedro-Woolley!  At the intersection of Ferry and Metcalf.  Were you there?
