SWHS All-Class Picnic July 7th

It's almost here!  The SWHS All-Class picnic.  Class of 71 will be there with our sign...we were the groundbreakers for the sign thing - now every organized class has one!

Cost is $15 and please specify a hamburger or chicken entree for the lunch.

Come early, stay late!  Wear sunscreen!  Bring some cash so you can buy raffle tickets on some great items to support the SWHS Alumni Association's scholarship program.

The SWHS Alumni Assn also has a Facebook page and the picnic details have been in the Skagit Valley Herald and on various Internet community calendars.

This event grows bigger every year because it's so much fun!  See members of other classes and visit all around Riverfront Park.  It's an easy way to have a mini-reunion with your class.

Joy's Bakery is our caterer again this year.  Great to have SWHS Alumni taking care of us again!

June monthly coffee hour will be a pot luck dinner!

Tuesday, June 26th we'll be meeting at Gary Rothenbuhler's house instead of our usual coffee place.  For our almost-annual pot luck dinner!  5ish until he makes us go home.  This is always a fun time with music and food!  Bring whatever - fish and potatoes are already taken.  Well, there's always room for more fish!  See you there!

Sedro-Woolley High School Class of 1971 is pleased to announce the winners of four scholarships, each in the amount of $2500:

Academic study:

Emilie Moser, a 2012 graduate of SWHS, plans to study biomedical sciences.  She is inspired by her grandfather to study cardiac medicine.  Emilie has assumed a variety of leadership roles during high school, and volunteers to play piano at community events which support education, such as those sponsored by the SWSD Foundation.  She is the daughter of Michael and Michelle Moser of Mount Vernon.

Erin Nesheim, a 2009 graduate of SWHS, is currently studying at Seattle Pacific University with a double major in accounting and business.  She will intern with Moss Adams, LLP, in Everett this summer.  She makes time to volunteer with Junior Achievement and organizations that help foster children.  Erin is the daughter of Mike and Teresa Nesheim of Sedro-Woolley.

Brennan Spinnie, a 2012 graduate of SWHS will study Mechanical Engineering and computer aided design.  Brennan plays piano and has enjoyed leadership roles in his graduating class and school sports, especially soccer and basketball.  He contributed his design skills to the Big Lake Elementary School parking lot redesign project.  Brennan is the son of Dennis and Kristi Spinnie of Mount Vernon.

Vocational study:

Elizabeth Rusnak is a 2012 graduate of SWHS and is pursuing her passion for cooking as a current enrollee in the Culinary Arts Program at the NorthWest Career and Technical Academy in Mount Vernon.  She is a member of the academically-recognized SWHS Girls Swim Team, and has volunteered with food preparation at various community events. Elizabeth is the daughter of Llane Rusnak-Burt of Sedro-Woolley.

Awarded June 6, 2012 at Senior Awards Night, Sedro-Woolley High School.  Congratulations, Class of 2012 from the Class of 1971!
