Monthly Coffee Hour Tuesday August 27th - Starbucks at Exit 232

We had a great time at Darlene and Joel’s last month!  Lots of people came for the event – because there was food?  No!  It was for the company!

Our regular monthly coffee hour will be Tuesday, August 27^th!  5ish to 7ish.  We’re back to our regular schedule - at the same place we always meet…see subject line. 

Lots of road work going on in SW right now.  They’re rerouting the east end of the Cook Road to run between Walgreen’s and Bingham Park, and terminate on Hwy 20 in a traffic circle.  This will be a big change and the area where the contractors are working will be closed until mid-October.  Traffic is being rerouted on the Trail Road.  Here’s the official notice – it includes a map:

There is other roadwork going on at the same time – most notably on State Street near Paula Wilcox Brunn’s house!

Then, they’re going to install the permanent repair to the Skagit River bridge some time soon and I-5 will be closed and rerouted again during the installation.  There seems to be a traffic crew or an orange barrel everywhere you look!

We had a great time tonight at Darlene and Joel's!  You would have loved it!

Class of 71 Coffee Hour July 30th!

We're having a party!  Our collective "60th Birthday Party" on July 30th.  As is our custom, we have a pot luck dinner for one of our gatherings in the summer - this year it will be at Darlene and Joel Woiwod's house, to celebrate our 60th birthdays and enjoy a summer evening!

So don't go to Starbucks - unless you want to!  Directions to Darlene and Joel's will be in our monthly reminder e'mail that goes to all class members with an e'mail on file.  If you're not getting the e'mail, I don't have your address!  There are a few people whose addresses I had a year or so ago, but who have apparently changed their addresses because the e'mails bounce back to me now as undeliverable.  You must know who you are...so if you want to get back on the list, just let me know!

Coffee hour June 25th!

Our regular coffee hour will be on June 25th - the "last" Tuesday of the month!  At Starbucks at exit 232, same as always!  5ish to 7ish. 

We decided at the last coffee hour to have our annual pot luck at the July gathering, July 30th, hoping for better weather than we usually get in June!  It will be at Darlene and Joel's this year.  Will we have mystery guests from out of town?  We often do!

Also coming up, the Sedro-Woolley High School Alumni Association's annual All-Class Picnic on Saturday, July 13th!  This is a BIG event!  Attendance is expected to top 500!  Many classes use the Picnic as their official reunion! 

Advance lunch reservations are best for the Picnic - $15 advance reservations/$20 at the door.  Day-of-Picnic lunches have limited availability.  Our caterer will once again be Joy's Bakery, representing Class of 1971!  Well, that was a stretch.  But we love them!  Choose hamburger or chicken as an entree when you make your reservation.  Mail your check to SWHS AA, PO Box 509, SW  98284

And we'll see you at the Loggerodeo Parade on July 4th!  No Class of 71 "float" this year...unless something changes.  But watch for us in the parade in 2016!

Class of 71 coffee hour May 28th!

Our next class coffee hour is Tuesday, May 28th!  We always meet on the "last" Tuesday of the month.  5ish to 7ish.  Starbucks at exit 232.  You know the drill. 

We'll hope for some summer next week!  Winter has returned this week.  But maybe we'll be able to sit outside by next Tuesday.

Class of 71 Monthly Coffee Hour April 30!

Our monthly coffee hour falls on the "last" Tuesday of the month, so in April it is on the 5th Tuesday! 

Starbucks at Exit 232 off I-5 -- Old timers refer to this as the "end of the Cook Road", even tho it isn't -- 5:00-ish to 7:00-ish.  No set time; just come when you can and visit with your classmates!

A few things are coming up:

SWHS Alumni Association annual geranium and tomato plant sale is Saturday, May 4th, at 9:00 a.m.  At the little building just west of the SW Community Center.  Benefits the Association's vocational scholarship program.  BEAUTIFUL plants will be available for purchase!

All-Class Picnic as produced by the SWHS Alumni Association is Saturday, July 13th.  Riverfront Park, 11:00 a.m. to about 3.  Catered lunch $15 for advance reservations and $20 at the door.
This is such a BIG and FUN event!  Classes sit together and mingle with other classes, too!  Again, proceeds benefit the Alumni Association's vocational scholarship program.

Monthly coffee hour - Tuesday March 26th!

Celebrate spring and daylight saving by coming to our March coffee hour!  It's not so dark for the drive home - we meet from 5ish to 7ish and look forward to these longer days!!

Last month we had a chatty crowd and solved many of the world's problems right there at the table!

So spring on over to Starbucks at exit 232 and join us for camaraderie and coffee.  It's still ok to bring handwork!
