Class of 1971 member JB Bryson - his life and community service

Every class member lost is significant to us - we are a class of close friendships and long relationships.  But the death of JB Bryson on June 28th has touched everyone deeply.  He had a big impact on our community and our class.  Our sympathies are with his wife, Sue Ann Butt Bryson, and JB's large family. 

This week is especially difficult because JB has been an important volunteer at the chain saw carving events at Loggerodeo for many years. 

His memorial will be Saturday, July 12^th, at 1 p.m. at Sedro-Woolley High School.  There will be a formal procession through town coordinated by emergency services agencies, because JB died in the line of duty as a Skagit Search and Rescue volunteer.  If you have a chance to appreciate his dedication to service and pay respects to his family, please do.

Monthly Coffee Hour - Tuesday, May 27th - Starbucks at Exit 232

Tuesday, May 27th, is our monthly gathering of Class of 71 members for coffee and conversation at Starbucks just off I-5 at exit 232.  You'll be all rested up from the Memorial Day Holiday!  A good time to attend the coffee hour and see what's going on.

We meet from 5ish to 7ish - no deadlines.  Everything is casual.  Some people bring handwork...everyone seems to bring a smart phone with photos of their latest news.

Are you on Facebook?  So are most of us!  Class of 71 does not have a Facebook page, per se (although several other SWHS classes do) but LOTS of us are on Facebook and we are all friended together.

This is the best time of year to come out for coffee.  Weather is great and there's no driving in the dark!

We will also talk about having a pot luck later in the summer.  So be there to get informed!!

There shouldn't be any Tulip Traffic by the 29th!  So tiptoe on over to Starbucks at Exit 232 for our monthly coffee hour!  5ish to 7ish.  Will YOU be the surprise attendee?

A little early this month - don't be caught off guard!  Come on out and visit with your "old" classmates!  Starbucks at Exit 232 off I-5.  5ish to 7ish.  We always have fun!

Monthly Coffee Hour - Tuesday, January 28th!

We're back to our normal schedule - the "last" Tuesday of the month for our regular coffee hours.  It's not quite dark at 5 p.m. now, so at least our drive to Starbucks (exit 232) won't be totally in the dark!



Come on out and enjoy a visit and a latte next  Tuesday!  We'll be there!

Monthly Coffee Hour - Tuesday, December 17th! Early!

Our December monthly coffee hour will be Tuesday, December 17^th!  5ish to 7ish.  Did you remember that it is early?

We normally meet on the LAST Tuesday of the month, but the last Tuesday of 2013 is New Year’s Eve!  And the one before that is Christmas Eve.  

Downtown Sedro-Woolley looks lovely, as usual.  Lots of charming shops to patronize, too.  Santa should make some stops at Cascade Fabrics, Oliver Hammer, and Simply Silver, among others. 

If you check out the live Sedro-Woolley cam at night (and it gets dark about 4:30 p.m. now) you will see the lighted lamp posts and the tree on Metcalf.  Don’t miss it!

Tromp on over to Starbucks tomorrow!  We’ll be there!  Merry Christmas!
